Notorious for sophisticated programming, larger than life DJ sets and one of the most technically sound producers, Adam Walder better known as Funkagenda, returns with ‘Deck 9’. ‘Deck 9’ was released Tuesday as a Beatport exclusive, on Funk Farm. Funk Farm has proven an integral home not only for Europe’s next generation of talent, but his own well crafted dance weapons. ‘Deck 9’ is dedicated to the World’s largest floating dance music festival, that is annually attended by the sexiest fans and globally renowned DJs. The Groove Cruise9 doesn’t depart until next January, but Funkagenda has already claimed the official Anthem. The excursion includes 72 hours of non-stop music and a trip to a private island in the Bahamas.

Another rich sound with melodic arrangements, reassuring that Funkagenda is still a landmark in British House music.

Funkagenda’s much anticipated release ‘Shinjuku’ has arrived on Funkagenda’s own Funk Farm label. The track has been featured in Funkagenda’s sets for a while now, so you may recognize the deep lead and haunting vocals. The track has a slow, intricate, tech element that will not leave your fists pumping, but that’s where Michael Woods comes in.

Woods transforms the already incredible original into a bass thumping progressive/electro Anthem. With a wobbly drop similar to Deadmau5’s ‘Cthulhu Sleeps’. My admiration for Michael Woods just sky rocketed!

The next artist featured in the remix package comes from the Brighton based dubstep group and House Anthems favorite, Millions Like Us. They maintain the vocal samples and add a whirling bass line that will put in your seat.

Lastly is a remix from the competition winner, Alex Dimou. His spin is a uptempo, light groovy piece with a memorable bass riff that will linger in your head for days.

Pleasurekraft remixes the tune as well. Giving it a more mellower, darker vibe with a consistent bass line. I’m favoring Bart B Mores’.

My ‘Splinter (Original Club Mix)’ – Fukangenda post was a bit premature. The next day this massive collaboration between Funakgenda and Adam K was released. ‘Drift’ is the new ‘Strobe’. Track packs pounding bass, and grinding synths. Its the mellow deep House sound, that you can listen to over and over again. Its what everyones been missing. This is the type of track you could pass out to or wake up to in the morning. Do not miss this Anthem from Funkagenda, a new House Anthems favorite artist.

With ‘Strobe’ on my mind, I listened to Axwell’s Essential Mix from Miami music week again. Axwell’s Swanky Tunes- ‘Together’ & Deadmau5’s – ‘Strobe’ bootleg is incredible. I remember being floored at Coachella when Axwell played it. Bad news first. Its probably only a set track unlikely to be released. Good news, I have a pretty decent reboot from Roman G using those same two tracks.
Strobe Together (Romain G Reboot) – Swanky Tunes vs. Deadmau5

Uk’s Funkangenda only considers himself to be a “Club DJ”. Really, he’s a World class all-star. Funkagenda is a firmly fixed name across global music charts, regularly achieving Beatport No. 1’s and Top 10 positions. Funkagenda has established himself as a producer of tough but melodic big room house sound. Thats exactly what these three Anthems are.

Astana (Original Mix) – Funkagenda
Funkagenda’s sound attracts musical partnerships from a spectrum of genres, remixing artists including Basement Jaxx, Moby, Fat Boy Slim and Dirty Vegas. Check this piece with Sultan & Ned Shepard. Repeat, repeat repeat. Enjoy!
